Vince Gill – 2017 Lowell Summer Music Series

2017 photo100 – #27

In the spirit of full disclosure let me say this; I Do Not Like ‘Country Music’. In general I find it musically simplistic and the themes to be misogynistic. However, I did enjoy this show. Vince’s music, the stories, and in particular, his guitar playing which was a welcome surprise are certainly an exception to my generalizations.

Trombone Shortly openned the 2017 Lowell Summer Music Series in fine style. If there had been a roof on Boarding House Park, it would certainly have been blown clean off! Infinite energy and masterful musicanship from every member of his band got the full house on it’s feet!

Jim Mouradian – RIP

2017 photo100 – #9

Jim Mouradian played bass for Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters but is better known as a master guitar builder, or luthier.

He succumb to a heart attack while waiting to perform an encore at a show on Saturday, Jan 14th. Jim was 66 years old.

I made this image of Jim in 2009 while performing with Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters at the Lowell Summer Music Series.

There are several memorials online:

Jason D. Williams – 2016 Lowell Folk Festival

2016 photo100 – #83

This guy does more than ‘rock the house’, it’s more like a 7.3 earthquake! If Jerry Lee Lewis and Mick Jager had a child, and that child had ADHD it would be Jason on a quiet day.
