This was the first, and so far only, solo acoustic show I’ve attended at the Lowell Summer Music Series – one man and guitar, that’s it. A great show from a Blues Hall of Fame performer. My other shots from this show are viewable here: http://bit.ly/2011lsmshammond
This talented fellow was one of the most animated and entertaining drummers I’ve ever seen. Rather than buried in the back, his kit was set up stage front and he was very much a part of the show. There are more shots of him, and the headliner Natalie MacMaster in my Flickr photoset here: http://bit.ly/1oRxREv
What a fun group! A New Orleans style brass band (including a banjo who doubled as the player of the world’s smallest maraca and accordian). I’m looking forward to seeing them again at the Lowell Folk Festival. You can see all my photos from their set here: http://bit.ly/thepartyband2014
Another jaw-droppingly great show at the Lowell Summer Music Series. Trombone Shorty rocked the house with a heavy dose of New Orleans jazz with a sprinkling of James Brown and Satchmo.
The Lowell Summer Music Series also presents several programs for kids. Today they had ‘Curious Creatures’ featured on the program. Snakes and parrots and aligators and a funny looking cat with a strip down it’s back. 😉
Sadly, this was a no ‘pro cameras’ show so I was stuck with my Canon SX230 HS point&shoot. I love me some George! I’ve seen him a few times now and I love every show!
