I didnt’t want all those folks looking at the photos from Buffalo thinking that massive amounts of snow are unique to Buffalo. This shot is from 1978 in southwest Michigan. We had over 10ft of snow for the season that year.
Somewhere under that snow is a ’68 Toyota Land Crusier; lovingly refered to as ‘Crusher’. 😉
I captured this shortly after I bought my first ‘real’ camera, a Canon AT-1. I had the camera sitting on a fence post during this long-exposure shot. Although not technically great, I still like this shot as it reminds of so many things.
We had an annual tradition in my high school, ‘Hat Day’. I trust that I don’t need to explain the subject of celebration that day. 😉
I’ve done a fair bit of poking fun at my old friends in these #TBT shots so I thought it was time for a bit of turn-about. Man, my hair was short in those days. 😉
The key to winning these things is to lead with your butt. Driving straight into your opponent damages the engine/radiator of your car and can quickly disable you.
The monster station wagons of the 70’s, all 19 feet of them weighing in at ~5,000 lbs and sporting 440 cubic inch V8s (that’s over 7L for you kids), were the kings of this event.
