I didn’t even notice this when I was framing the shot. This is a pretty heavy crop but it is much better than the original composition.

My partner sells a lot on eBay and she takes lots of pictures to include in the listings. She prefers to use our Canon PowerShot SX230 HS over my Nikon DSLR. It is easier to handle and much easier to operate. But the flash, like most on-camera flashes, is awful.
A typical light ring attaches to a camera around the lens to create a ‘halo’ of light. The idea is to project the light onto the subject perpendicular to the lens to reduce visible shadows. They are most often used in macro photography but are useful whenever the subject is close to the camera. They can be purchased for as little as $20 but why buy it when you can build it! I’ve fallen off the pace here a bit – work commitments have kept me busy the last few weeks and show no sign of slowing. I guess I’ll have to cut back on my time spent watching cat videos. 😉

photo365 – Day 365
Well, I managed to pull it off – posting at least one picture a day for an entire year. There were a few bumps along the way, duplicated images, mislabed days, Lightroom’s absence of a spell checker
Also, many thanks to my friends and ‘followers’. I greatly appreciate your interest and comments along the way. Many of you have asked that I continue the project into the new year. I’m going to downshift a bit and put something up at least once a week. Frankly, I don’t have enough decent shots left in the catalog to put up 365 more. 😉
I’ll be posting all the images from the project into a Facebook album if you care to review them. Of course, they also exist on my Flickr account as an album as well (link below).
Thanks and Happy 2015!

photo365 – Day 364
As the year, and this project, comes to a close, I thought it appropriate to post my most popular image so far. This shot of a fox was taken in my yard one winter’s day. This little cutie was jogging through the yard and just sat down for a quick break.
This image, and a few others from the group, got a bit of traction on Flickr and Tumber. I have over 20,000 views of this image alone on Flickr alone. The entire set of images has over 150,000 views combined. You can see the entire set here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/streamingmeemee/sets/72157626033364128
