I spent the day on a boat today; we were fishing for cars. Since 2005 the non-profit Clean River Project (http://www.cleanriverproject.org/) has been removing trash and debris from the Merrimack River. Today they removed 7 cars bringing their total to 55.
I tagged along with my buddy Chris on one of the boats to grab a few snaps. The entire set of photos is viewable here: http://bit.ly/carrecovery
In a shaded corner of the Boston Common is a small graveyard dating back to the early 19th century. Most of the markers have eroded away over time, some broken. It is fascinating to read them. Many are quite detailed and rather macabre.
This is a carved marble downspout above a castle patio near the town of Vélez Blanco, Spain. The marble patio itself was sold off long ago and now lives in a museum in New York. You read more about it here http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/works-of-art/41.190.482
This is another from my parent’s wedding. They are celebrating their 60th anniversary next month and I’ll be dedicating all my TBT shots in October to them.
