These wonderfully warm tones are controls on a 1950s Peerless Simplex XL movie projector. This meticulously restored unit now adorns the lobby of my hometown movie theater, The Regent, in Allegan MI.

These colorful art pieces were on display at the Indian Heritage Festival we attended in Lowell. I failed to get the artist’s name — I won’t make that mistake again.
The photographers in the audience will no doubt notice how ‘blown out’ is the exposure of the upper left of the image. Yup, guilty. I’m still getting comfortable with my new D750 and exposure settings are one of those things. However, I find the effect oddly satisfying in this image.

Floating Flowers

These blossoms are floating in a large caldron of water. This also qualifies as a ‘throwback’ as it was taken during our tour of India in 2006.
