Your call is very important to us…

I’ve been a busy little code monkey…

I’ve installed a ‘trouble ticket’ system to manage support issues for FrameAlbum.  Some (Ok, most) of you who have emailed me in the past (at framealbum@gmail.com) may have received a reply stating that a ‘…human will reply shortly.’.  I’m in the process of sorting through those, and replying to folks to whom I’ve been woefully remiss.

I’ve also installed a ‘bug tracker’.  I’ll use this to record bugs that are discovered by you, intrepid users, and to manage the ‘feature roadmap’ for future versions of FrameAlbum.

Both of these items are ‘behind the curtain’ but are important for the maintenance of my sanity as well as the experience of folks using the service.

Source code ready for ‘early review’

Lastly, but of greater significance to many folks here, I’ve finally managed to cobble together a GIT repository of the FrameAlbum source code.  I’m using the new bitbucket.org service from Atlassian (makers of Jira, Confluence and many other tools for developers).  I’m going to open this up only to a few people at first so that I can insure that I’ve left nothing ‘secret’ in the GIT version of the code.  If you are interested in having a look at the sausage machine that is FrameAlbum, hop on over to bitbucket.org and register yerself.  Ping me when you’re registered.

Ciao for now!

  1. I registered for the beta, and I don’t believe I received a response. Are you being selective on the beta testers?
    I’d like to help.

  2. I appreciate you taking this project on, I’m sure there are lots of frames out there that are just waiting for this to come online to the mainstream. I also registered for the beta a couple months ago and have been trying my best to wait patiently, but thought a gentle nudge might be appropriate, as I would love to get in on the beta.

  3. Hello, I’ve tried to register in FrameAlbum.com but it states that the registrations are not enabled. Can you please consider me as a beta tester?
I just bought a Toshiba frame and I´d like to test it or get a refund.
Anyway, thanks for all your efforts on this issue. For what I have read in the blog, you have been very active on solving the problem.

  4. Will you be releasing more invites soon? I registered a while back and haven’t heard anything. I really miss the rss to my frame. Keep up the good work!

  5. Signed up for Beta, just wanted to know if this will work the same as framechannel with the PIN number as my frame is actually a EX-1011 and does not officially support frame channel, but because it is UPNP capable I can run a RSS feed to it through TVercity or Twonky. Will I be able to use this also, I was always able to just set my pin as a 4 digit number on the framechannel website then put that into my rss feeds url. Anyways look forward to getting on the beta to test it out. Thanks

  6. Thanks for trying to replace the FrameChannel service! It’s too bad that it was discontinued!

I just bought the Kodak W820 for my mother and I was trying to get it setup for her before Christmas… Would it be possible to get in on the beta testing as well? I just signed up today…

  7. @bebegera: I see that you have registered on FrameAlbum and configured a few channels. However, it seems that the system can’t find any public photos in your Picasa account. Some folks have reported that they do have public photos but that FrameAlbum isn’t finding them. Do you have any public photos in your Picasa account?

  8. @RobH: Yes! FrameAlbum does provide MRSS feeds. The MRSS URL is shown on the frame detail page. I’ve been able to use TVersity to feed a UPNP (or is it DLNA? I can never remember…) HP frame. It’s not pretty, but it does work.

Your invite email should have arrived in your inbox by the time you read this. Welcome to FrameAlbum!

  9. @Shelku: I see that you’ve registered on the service and built a Picasa channel. The system can’t seen to find any public photos on your Picasa feed; do you have any?

  10. Hi There,

Registered quite awhile ago. Also registered a Bitbucket account. I would love to get my Kodak frame working.

    Mahalo!

    HP
